Whatever!!!

I feel like I'm suspended in weight loss limbo. Haven't been eating like a pig, but I haven't been excruciatingly careful either. I haven't gained, really, but I haven't been losing either. Cause and effect. I just can't believe how much harder this is to accomplish as I get older.

My 49th birthday was this week which really solidified in my head that I really, really, really, REALLY want to finish losing the rest of the weight this year. I'm NOT going into my 50's with excess baggage. I just read an article yesterday about studies done showing a link between big bellies in your middle age and alzheimers 20-30 years later. That's all I need to hear.

So, if you'll all excuse the diet waffling (sorry, bad term to use with fellow dieters) I've been through the last few months, I'm ready to get back on the stick. I was so 'in the zone' last summer/fall. I guess I just have to get my focus back. Jim has been on WW as well and has been really steadfast except for some of those unavoidable work lunches they bring in. He brings his lunch for lots of them but sometimes he just has to eat what's there. He still loses weight. Then again, I have to remember that he's close to his top weight and at that point the weight comes off pretty quickly. Since I'm closer to goal, it's acting pretty stubborn. My excess fat, not my husband :-)

Okay, dieters. A question. Who of you are watching Biggest Loser on Tuesday nights on NBC? I confess. I'm addicted. It's about the only show I watch that's not a documentary or a home improvement type show. The drama is hilarious. The weight loss is encouraging. The intensity of their workouts is inspiring. Every single one of them started out a lot bigger than I ever was and yet each one of them is just peeling the pounds off in a very healthy way. There are definitely some things I don't like about the show and there are times we change the channel, but overall, it's been fairly entertaining.

Today is the day I'm spring cleaning my bathrooms. {{eye roll}} I better get going, I'm just feeling particularly lazy today. That can't be good.
